The Main Ingredient Of The Dish: Tvorok

1. Tvorok Pancakes – these fluffy pancakes are a delicious and light breakfast or brunch option. To make them, mix 2 cups of Tvorok with 2 eggs, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of sugar and enough flour to form a dough. Fry in a lightly oiled pan until golden brown and serve with jam, honey or syrup.

2. Tvorok Pie – this delicious savory option is perfect for lunch or dinner. To make it, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 12-inch (30 cm) pie dish with a crust and spread 1 ½ cups of Tvorok on the bottom. Top with an onions, garlic and mushrooms mixture sautéed in butter, plus some grated cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

3. Tvorok Syrniki – this is a classic Russian recipe that makes use of fresh Tvorok. Mix 1 cup of Tvorok with 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of flour, a pinch of salt and some sugar (if desired). Form into balls and flatten them slightly. Fry in a lightly oiled pan until golden brown on both sides and serve warm with jam or syrup.

4. Tvorok Cake – this delicious and moist cake is perfect for a special occasion. Beat 2 cups of Tvorok with ¾ cup of sugar, 4 eggs and 2 tablespoons of melted butter until light and fluffy. Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder, ½ cup of flour and mix well. Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan with butter and pour in the batter. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

5. Tvorok Muffins – these sweet muffins are perfect for a cozy morning with tea or coffee. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Beat together 1 cup of Tvorok, 2 eggs, ¼ cup of sugar and some vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Add ½ cup of flour and combine. Fill greased muffin tins with the batter and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
